Accrington Mural
This mural is on a disused mill based on the Leeds to Liverpool Canal towpath. Inspired by the rural landscape of Lancashire and set in view of Pendle Hill it focused upon words made out of plant and flower motifs. The essence of the images reflected healing and celebrating women's pleasures. Local women created the words with the writer Mojisola Adebayo.

UAL Decolonising the Arts Insitute
Alice Correia and Raksha Patel in Conversation
In Alice Correia’s fellowship at the Decolonising Arts Institute, UAL, she spoke to Raksha Patel about her artistic practice and how her identity as a woman of South Asian heritage has informed her subject matter, and perceptions of her work.
Patel and Correia discuss the ways that the grunge and yBa aesthetic of the 1990s informed her work as a student. Patel also reflects on how, in the 2000s, meditation and a closer understanding of the organic connections between the body and the environment impacted her work.

British South-Asian Visual Art Post Cool Britannia
This research group has been set up by Raksha Patel and Daniel Sturgis for Camberwell College of Arts in 2020. The impetus for this was the result of anti-racism and decolonizing discussions in the college studios. The group facilitated a series of discussions with British South-Asian visual artists exploring the role and presence of identities within their practice.
The three events were The Body, the Home of Unseen Landscapes. George Chakravarthi, Jai Chuhan and Alia Syed looked at the placement of the diasporic body within the traditions of Western European landscape.
Un-Swamping the River – Painters Turning the Tide on Racism. This event looked at the way racism has impacted and in turn been depicted in the work of artists Bhajan Hunjan, Hardeep Pandhal and Raksha Patel.
The Shape of Immateriality. This event looked abstraction, narrative and heritage explored through works by Rana Begum, Reza Ben Gajra and Haroun Hayward.

Lives, Love and Loss, Traces at Fenton House, National Trust
Traces worked with the National Trust at Fenton House to explore the tales of the Gee family, prominent silk and linen merchants, and Quakers that once lived at Fenton House. The story picks up on unexpected family tragedies that create an atmospheric, other-worldly experience through contemporary artworks far from the London we know today. My art-works were displayed in the Drawing Room to describe the family loss and mourning through the symbology of flowers.

The Fabric of India, The V&A Museum 2015
I worked with adult (mainly women's) community groups across four London Boroughs making a variety of art-works that explored craft and textile making from India. During these workshops we looked at methods of embroidery, bloc-printing, and dying using natural household materials and plants from the garden as well as India's cultural and political in relation to textiles.

Age UK and Cubitt Seniors Art School 2015/17
In these workshops for the over 55s, participants challenged traditional ideas of painting, printmaking through exploiting medium of paint. Our time was spent experimenting, playing with paint to create art-works that resulted in paper plant structures; ceramic objects painted with memories of our favourite places and printed wallpaper to adorn the Claremont Centre's walls.

Spacemakers, Kettle's Yard 2010
SpaceMakers explored ideas around architecture and the built environment. The project ran over two years in conjunction with the architectural planning of the new Education Wing at Kettles Yard. BTEC Art and Design students at Comberton Village College investigated the project concerns with Raksha through creative intervention, exploration and experimentation through making. The sessions were process led and open ended, where critical thinking through discussion led to physical outcomes. Architects, Urban Planners and Archeologists contributed their expertise during the sessions, which was then explored through the eyes of contemporary art and artists.
